BBQ and Pool Party #1
Aug. 29th, 2004 11:39 pmToday we opened up the house for a BBQ and pool party. We invited most of our square dance club, some gym friends, and a few other special people (like
rootbeer1 and
qbear -- especially since they wanted to see the house). About 40 people came and ate 26 chicken breasts and 30 burgers. We ended up with far more alcohol than we started with.

I was busy a lot of the time, but I managed to take time to talk to friends I don't see very often, like Christopher.
excessor was a big help by helping us set up and doing the BBQ chef bit. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, but as often happens I didn't get time to frolic in the pool or meet many of the new people. We'll try to have some smaller get-togethers that let us spend more time with guests.
mike_norcal really enjoys making everything just so for our guests.
Two Sundays from now, Hurricane
lowfatmuffin blows into town (and we do mean blows!) and we'll have a smaller group over for similar fare. LJ people who haven't tired of him during the city leg of his tour will have the opportunity to enjoy more fresh, muffin-y goodness at our place.

As for "old and weathered," you seem young and dewily innocent to me. But then I was the model for the Old Man of the Mountain in New Hampshire, who recently lost his nose.
I know Christopher mostly via ICUii, and since I don't spend much time there now, we don't talk much. The distance to San Pablo is hard to overcome.

Young and dewily innocent? How sweet. You're not, however, paying attention. As Indiana Jones says, “It's not years, it's the mileage.”
Christopher was easy to talk to. Yes, San Pablo is far away.
