Last night we had a terrific dinner at Crimson to celebrate Paul's bonus and the arrival of the rings, as chronicled by excessorhere. We ended up with Mokume-Gane inset titanium -- different, understated, and not so expensive as to cause heart attack if misplaced. Romance ensued.
No plan as yet. Since we gradually ended up together, I guess the "wedding" will be gradual as well. None of this huge-ceremony-and-reception stuff. Unless the state changes the law unexpectedly...!
Did you guys get rings? Did you test them with all the lubes you're likely to use? Do they coordinate with your sling hardware? Inquiring minds want to know....
Our rings are 14K gold-plat with six inset rosette coloured stones in the old rainbow standard format. We went with artificial gems for brilliance & clarity of colour rather than natural stones; the price was about the same either way.
Alas, they are not co-ordinated with any of our leather gear & toys as we bought & exchanged them before we had merged households/countries, back in early 1996. The gold definitely works better with my other accoutrements & accessories though, as almost everything I have is gold or brass rather than silver or stainless steel.
Purty. I was just pulling your leg in asking! I too do better with gold than silver (must be our similar coloring), but in this case I wanted to match Paul's, and in turn his matches his watch, which is two-tone.
