Memorial Day weekend

As previously noted, we stayed away from Great America in favor of operetta Friday night. Saturday we did some light shopping and worked outside; there was time for some poolside relaxation, but not enough. Sunday we contorted the schedule a bit, going directly from the gym to an early-evening showing of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, which I won't comment on except to note that the only appearance of Jar Jar Binks has him saying "Excuse me." A bit late for an apology, perhaps, but we appreciate Mr. Lucas' finally atoning somewhat for his past sins.

Monday the gym closed at 2, so we never made it. We did make it up to pyrogeoff's place for the BBQ in honor of The Three Bears (animbear, bigsabu, and redbeardedblond) -- it was a thrill to meet bigsabu for the first time after a year of gazing on his works admiringly from afar. I got a great hug from beastbriskett and was finally introduced to the famous texasfurr. A lot of other handsome men were there, but I won't even try to compete with social secretary rootbeer1's abilities to remember names and handles of people present. Suffice it to say it was an overload for me, since I don't get out much.

I love how I'm almost in two pictures. I'm sitting behind Gary in #1 and my hat almost looks like it's sitting on Jack's head in #7.

Actually I have a good shot of you taking pictures from your perch on the chair, but you didn't quite make the cut. Like many stars, your best work is on the cutting room floor... :)
