I'm spending a fun evening pulling out CDs from our 200-CD jukebox, copying some, putting others into the original jewel cases, and otherwise continuing preparations to split up our household. I moved the last utility account into my name today; the PG&E guy on the phone sounded like one of ours, and seemed apologetic when he asked if he could check my credit. Since I've been paying the bill for more than five years, this seemed unnecessary, but they don't have a concept of "joint accounts."

The good news is that

excessor has accepted an offer for his house and will be moving in here soon. Until then, I'll be rattling around this big place by myself most of the time -- Mike is spending almost every night at his bf's, and they start moving into their new place March 1st. The living room furniture will disappear Saturday when Mike's son picks it up for his use.
