The ex

When I met my ex, I was a junior at MIT. We checked coats for a gay dance together, and he was very handsome and intelligent... but it took him three more tries to ask me over to his place. He was an assistant prof. at BC at the time, but shortly after we moved in together (and I left school for what turned out to be six years) his contract was unrenewed. He did some postdoc work to make ends meet, then finally got a job at Polaroid doing film chemistry. He's worked at Polaroid for over 20 years now, even surviving the recent bankruptcy and downsizing. Today I got an email from him asking for advice on how to invest his 401K.

He met a nice 19-yo kid from Winnipeg last year, and recently the kid moved in. He's also a geek and they seem as well matched as we were when I was 20. It's a shame my ex never grew up, but it's great that I did.

Here's a series of pics from went I met him to almost today:

The numbers are the roll serial numbers -- the picture fell into the first or last end of the roll and got exposed to them. The kind of artifact that won't appear from now on.
