My mother sent me this photo of me at around 5. Scary! Though I must say the outfit would work even today.

We had a busy peninsula weekend. First it was low_fat_muffin's housewarming party in Palo Alto (where I noticed how calm and peaceful it was away from the city and its constant wind and traffic) and then on Sunday a very pleasant dinner al fresco at the home of absent friends in Hillsborough -- their house was being sat by Paul's good friend Jim and his partner Pete, visiting from Connecticut.

Managing to get the two-hour gym sessions in on both days was tough.

Upcoming we have steven_homer visiting starting Thursday. We'll be having a few people over Saturday in his honor, then try to expose him further Sunday at the usual venues. Exposing him should be fun for everyone....

It's a shame the nascent gay community in Palo Alto - Mountain View (highly visible when I started visiting in '89) has disappeared, killed by high costs and the attractions of the city to the north.
