[livejournal.com profile] excessor did a fine job of documenting our brief visit to the world of Hairrison, so I'll just add a few thoughts and pictures. Everyone involved should be congratulated for putting on a fine street fair. [livejournal.com profile] pyrogeoff looked frazzled, but [livejournal.com profile] bigreddee had recovered from an earlier swoon and looked cool and collected. I want some of what he's having -- I was overwhelmed after a few hours.

The host hotel courtyard was a scene out of Ft. Lauderdale Spring Break, but instead of railings full of high school jocks, we had middle-aged hairy men looking down on us. It was a good spot to stay put and let others pass by, because bottlenecks (especially in front of the beer sales booth on the street) took many minutes to get through. I eventually took my shirt off, though I am by no stretch of the imagination hairy enough to qualify, but the sun felt good and the protected courtyard kept the stiff wind off us.

So here's my pictures. I didn't take very many:

Your "I'm keeping it all together" act was very successful. I assumed drugs were involved... :-)

But seriously, your efforts were a big part of the event's success, and your capacity to keep going when it must have been tempting to sneak off for some R&R is admirable. Thanks for making a wonderful party for people.

And that handsome Fred character is lucky.

Well, I must admit, Claratin D single-handedly saved my ass on Friday and Saturday...by Sunday, I think that mid-way through the day, there were so few problems left to have that I was able to relax a little bit more. I had approximately 5 drinks over the weekend (3 beers Thursday night, about a 1/4th of a cup of beer Friday night, and one delicious Kahlua/Bailey's laced coffee Sunday morning as we set up, while [livejournal.com profile] glovercom nursed his Bloody Mary. But other than that, I was running on pure adrenaline.

And thank you...I think I'm an extremely lucky guy to have Fred.
