Corporate Wife

It's not often I have to play dutiful partner ("corporate wife") for excessor, but he's having over a group of coworkers tomorrow night to send off his manager in some style. Paul's been working on getting a nice dinner together (he just finished a huge batch of jerk chicken, yum!) and I'm doing some household cleaning chores that have been neglected for awhile, like washing rugs and neatening bookshelves.

My other chore in the last few days was booking a cruise and airfare for us and my remaining family members (brother and mother) -- heading to LAX Monday Dec. 24th, getting on a boat for four days, and returning home Friday the 28th. Both shorter and less arduous than the usual holiday get-together. Had to twist some arms to get everybody to agree -- for one thing, my mother is aware it costs 50% more to book a holiday cruise, so she objected. I think we're rich enough to do something different once in awhile. I send them all the tickets and all my Christmas shopping is done? No, I still have to buy everyone something so we can have the traditional present exchange. Hmm, maybe I could book a massage for my mother as the gift...

zzbear's off to Charlotte tomorrow to do some consulting. He's making a fortune but has no one to come home to. We'll see if we can fix that.

All those old single ladies on those holiday cruises....

There's nothing more hilarious than watching those older single ladies go bananas for the bartenders and other staff that they've known forever on those holiday cruises. I remember one cruise on the Crown Odyssey where a woman was literally having an orgasm when she saw her favorite Greek bartender.

For those cruises, we usually do Crystal, Silversea or The World as they attract less kids.
