It's not often I have to play dutiful partner ("corporate wife") for [livejournal.com profile] excessor, but he's having over a group of coworkers tomorrow night to send off his manager in some style. Paul's been working on getting a nice dinner together (he just finished a huge batch of jerk chicken, yum!) and I'm doing some household cleaning chores that have been neglected for awhile, like washing rugs and neatening bookshelves.

My other chore in the last few days was booking a cruise and airfare for us and my remaining family members (brother and mother) -- heading to LAX Monday Dec. 24th, getting on a boat for four days, and returning home Friday the 28th. Both shorter and less arduous than the usual holiday get-together. Had to twist some arms to get everybody to agree -- for one thing, my mother is aware it costs 50% more to book a holiday cruise, so she objected. I think we're rich enough to do something different once in awhile. I send them all the tickets and all my Christmas shopping is done? No, I still have to buy everyone something so we can have the traditional present exchange. Hmm, maybe I could book a massage for my mother as the gift...

[livejournal.com profile] zzbear's off to Charlotte tomorrow to do some consulting. He's making a fortune but has no one to come home to. We'll see if we can fix that.

Monarch Of The Seas
That is one of the classic ships that I love from RCCL and it is in port everyday. Even the worst day on a cruise is better than the best day at work.

They do have the smallest staterooms I have ever been in with inside rooms at 110sq ft, oceanviews at 122 sq feet and superior oceanviews at 157 sq feet or a junior suite at 264 sq feet including balcony. Even the beds are smaller and my tall boyfriend at the time 5'10" bitched at me the whole time about those beds and was constantly had has legs hanging off the bed. Please tell me you got a jr suite or penthouse?

Us? Luxury? You must be kidding. We'd sleep in the car rather than spend over $30/night for a motel. Smallness won't bother my relatives -- they're smaller people. I will be the only one in danger of noticing.
