Church of Reality
Oct. 20th, 2005 02:23 pmSlept okay. So it looks like I will live without Valerian root to help me sleep. I hope my liver is properly appreciative.
excessor and I were watching the weather forecast last night when they showed a map of the path of Hurricane Wilma crossing Florida. "Oops! there goes Andy..." --
otterpop58 posted today about his being done with hurricanes, but they seem not to be done with him. I'd like to point out again how safe the Bay Area is from storms [while omitting discussions of earthquakes!]
Paul G and his partner Rick will be over for dinner tomorrow night, since John and Mark can't make it. I had lunch with Paul G Monday, and it was great fun for rather-isolated me.
Had a great talk with Neil (
mrdreamjeans) on the phone. It doesn't look like we're going to be able to make it up to see him on this visit, and unfortunately he has to leave to see his ailing dad just as the Sundance Stompede gets going. We hope he stops by our house for an evening and overnight stay when next he passes through on his way to Seattle.
Last night we went to the ECR class. Rich Reel is doing a great job as teacher, though he's going to go blind trying to use an iPod Nano to do his music.
excessor announced the date of the Cameron Robb (
handlebear) memorial dance (I'm remembering Nov. 12th, though it doesn't show on the web site yet.) Mike-my-ex showed up -- he's feeling much better now that he's able to return to his gym habit. I had fun catching up with another Mike, who took the class about 5 years ago and is coming back to pick it up again.

Then there's The Church of Reality, newly recognized by the IRS as a nonprofit church with all the tax benefits thereby conferred. This is my kind of church -- I've always wanted to be sanctimonious, and now I can be! [Hat tip: Boing-boing]
