The Blank Slate and ECR

I'm just finishing up The Blank Slate: The Modern Denial of Human Nature and I think I can declare it one of the small collection of brilliant syntheses that has shaped my thinking. I'll add it to the list I'm making for a new humanities curriculum.

ECR class night tonight was okay; met [livejournal.com profile] dhbearguy and talked to [livejournal.com profile] excessor a lot about the upcoming IBR. I got a room for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights and I'm treating it as an exotic vacation to Bearland, with a nearby Golds so I don't miss my workouts. [livejournal.com profile] excessor warned me that registration was closing in a few days, but luckily I've already paid for mine on the web. The website has a few inaccuracies, and I'd have hated to have waited to register at the door and discover that I couldn't.

[livejournal.com profile] handlebear attended but couldn't dance. [livejournal.com profile] nanocub monopolized his scalp-rubbing services.

Report website discrepancies to [livejournal.com profile] glovercom. He's the webmaster for BOSF.

I would if I knew for certain the rumored "no registrations at the door" was true. Since it was relayed through at least two people, who knows?

I'm on the IBR Committee. There WILL be walk-up registrations this year, just like last year. (Well, hopefully a bit smoother than last year, since that was the first time.)

Spank those who told you otherwise. Or at least, out them.
