Trail-In Dance, coasters

We spent the afternoon at Great America riding five coasters. It was a good time for it, but hot and sunny, and the high school kids were out in force. Waits were short. Whle I love coasters, it has been 6 years since I've been on one, and it turns out my brain now gets knocked about by some of the rougher ones, so I ended up with a headache which lasted for the rest of the day and made me less sociable.

After a two-hour escape to the Golds gym in Santa Clara, we ate dinner at Baja Fresh and returned to the convention. Between bits of work we got in a tip at the trail-in dance (featuring [livejournal.com profile] fuzzygruf). It was nice to hear Andy's ([livejournal.com profile] otterpop58) calling again, though I doubt if he'll have any time to talk since he's a staff caller. Also good seeing Randy, his ex, who reports he has a new bf. Saw most of the old faces from Canada and previous conventions; Brian Jarvis grabbed me and we ended up sucking face in the hall in front of everybody. How embarrassing, but if somebody starts massaging my neck, I generally lose all inhibitions.

I'd actually planned a longer post about how I'm suffering anomie and feeling alienated from everyone lately, but maybe its just because my head hurt all evening and I got little sleep last night after reinjuring my shoulder doing dumbbell work yesterday. I'm really happiest talking to one person, and crowds tend to leave me feeling more alone.

I'm with you on the "alone in a crowd" feelings sometimes.

Oh, and I've made a note about the neck massage thing for future reference.

I shouldn't reveal my weaknesses. But you are welcom to take advantage any time. :)

I'm really happiest talking to one person, and crowds tend to leave me feeling more alone. Ditto! Though sometimes I manage to visit with two people at one time successfully:) I will have to remember the neck massage tip:)

Hope you enjoy the remainder of the convention. I'm just staying out of the 100-degree plus weather here at home. The Houston area only had .006 inches of rain the entire month of June. Big Hugs to Paul and you!

We're holding Houston's rain for ransom. Too bad you're not here, I think you'd really enjoy the rowd and the dancing.
