Weekend Workout

Friday night we met up with John and Mark for dinner (see [livejournal.com profile] excessor's post) and snuggled up at home for the rest of the evening. Saturday we did housework, then went to a picnic at Sunnyvale Baylands Park (which I'd never been to) organized by Tom, an ECR square dance friend. Burgers were eaten and kites flown. Lots of Tom's geocaching friends were there as well as the usual squaredance cult members.

We didn't stay too long since the gym awaited. It was an unusually social day at the gym, with Mike and friend, "Schoolteacher Paul" and Scooby (aka Dan) in attendance. Here's Paul working hard -- ain't he handsome?

You two, without a doubt, are a very nice pairing to eyeball. ;)

Thanks. But I'm really a Potemkin Village of fitness -- age is catching up to me. [/whine]

Wow your golds is full of modern hammerstrength equipment. The Oakland golds has some, but mostly has 80's era equipment.

It's mixed. Despite the picture (taken on Saturday afternoon when usage is light), the equipment gets a lot of use, so they're pretty good about replacing it as needed. And there are some anomalies, like only one Hammer Military Press but 3 Incline Presses plus two different kinds of wide chest. Bottlenecks like that aren't ever addressed.

Thanks for sharing the pictures! Paul's got some arms goin' on!!! Btw, did you two have a chance to get the pictures I left for you with sflonestar (Jim)? I left three pictures from our day in the Castro and at the show. Hugs!

No, we haven't been up to the city for an LJ-friendly occasion in some time. But I'm sure they'll make it eventually....

BTW, I'm enjoying your touring posts even though I haven't taken time to comment. Chita Rivera! Paul and I watched Singin' in the Rain, her first film appearance (1952), just a few nights ago.

Correction -- that was Rita Moreno in SitR. My mistake -- those two always get mixed up in my mind.

I love the picture of Paul and Paul in the bathroom :-) Where was Michael?

Most of the time, Michael-schoolteacher-Paul's-partner hasn't been coming to the gym lately. And even then he mostly does cardio. Paul's charming and has no trouble chatting up the better-looking guys when he's out on his own. :-)
