I love the smell of granite dust in the morning

The kitchen guys arrived this morning with the granite countertops on their truck. They've put up plastic sheets to keep the dust out of the house, but the grinding and the sawing sounds are making it hard to concentrate. I'd rather go watch them at work, but it would probably make them nervous (it would me.)

German truck delivers Saudi Arabian granite so Mexican-American laborers can use Japanese hand tools to install American-fabricated counters in a California kitchen with Italian floor tiles and Chinese bamboo floors. World trade comes home.

if you're paying them, you have every right to watch them grind. butt crack should be no additional charge, too.

Heh. Not that any of them look promising for butt-crack purposes. It wasn't so much a question of whether I have a right to watch as whether they'd get distracted and accidentally saw off a finger because I was watching, or miss some detail because they're too busy worrying about what I might be thinking.

It's like you're living a big Benetton ad. Or perhaps a big Cost Plus ad. Get you.
