Well, I say it's spinach, and I say to hell with it

We're busy with housekeeping, gardening, and other prep chores for the house party we're having Sunday (not to be confused with the one for [livejournal.com profile] lowfatmuffin's visit Sept. 12th.) In the meantime, here's my election views as nicely (if crudely) encapsulated by the South Park guys, Trey Parker and Matt Stone:

Mr. Parker and Mr. Stone seem bent on offending as many people as possible. In "Team America" [their new puppet action movie], they take aim at sanctimonious right-wing nut-jobs and smug Hollywood liberals alike.

Alec Baldwin, for example, emerges as a villain almost as evil as Kim Jong Il. Sean Penn and Danny Glover take up arms to fight beside Mr. Kim, with Mr. Penn crying "Die, conservative!" before blowing away a Team America member....

[Parker and Stone] think President Bush is stupid, but they can't stand John Kerry either. "We hate both of them," Mr. Parker confirmed. "They're both retards. We have to choose between a" — four-letter word — "sandwich and a" — same four-letter word — "sandwich."

In my estimation, I wouln't lump Kerry in the same bath water with Bush as no one is as bad as Bush.

While I don't find Kerry a saint, he at least did serve in the vietnam war and this whole debate over his purple heart commendation is just plain silly, and someone said they have not been able to determine who actually authored the bios in the first place.

If I had to vote now, I think Kerry is preferable to Bush anyday. If Bush were re-elected, I'd be much more concerned than I am now.

On a lighter note, what's with the towel over your head? :-)

I find BugMeNot.com invaluable when there's a reference off Google News or some blog that I'd like to read, but I don't feel like giving the Lower Ashtabula (Ohio) World Journal and Green Sheet my name, rank, and serial number to do so.

As for the current crop of candidates, I'd love to say I disagree with Parker and Stone, but... there's some unpleasant truth in what they say.

Indeed -- well, if crudely, put. :-/

I am so in line for this. While waiting for that piece of crap AvP to start the other night, we were subjected to several crappy previews. When this trailer came on, the audience applauded.

An R-Rated Puppet Movie? There's no doubt I will be there.
