Palm Springs, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon trip photos

Here.

Some of these were already posted in small versions to Facebook. Sometimes all I had was my iPhone, but some of those turned out okay. The order is a bit jumbled because of the different sources.

Quick outline of our trip: drove from San Francisco to Palm Springs. Went to some parties, celebrated John's birthday, sunned, and went to the gym. Wednesday we drove to Las Vegas, checked into the Luxor Hotel, and went to see Bette Midler at Caesar's. The next day we worked out and then went to see Le RĂªve, a Cirque-like show with lots of muscular gymnastics (without a trace of body hair, of course.) The next day we left for the Grand Canyon, which we visited in the afternoon. Stayed overnight in Williams, AZ, then drove all the way home (11+ hours) in one day Saturday.

Lots of pictures of John and Mark's new house above Palm Springs, since I hadn't been there before. And here's the panoramic view of the canyon from the South Rim:

What a gorgeous house and setting! Did they build it?

When are you going to be buying something similar?

I sometimes wonder what it must have been like to be the first human to see the Grand Canyon (which I have never seen).

Of all of my travels and all of the man-made wonders, the Grand Canyon is still breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset.
