Done with bamboo project, mostly

The flooring guys finished up on Tuesday. We've moved all the furniture back and the remaining work is mostly deferred organization -- sorting through stuff that should have been disposed of ages ago, thinning files, etc. The hard surface of the flooring makes the house sonically "live" when compared to the old carpet, which takes getting used to. It's a bit springy because of the thin padding underneath (a so-called floating floor, not glued to the concrete but to itself so it can expand and contract.) I'll post a gallery later when I have time.

Last night we ventured out for the first time to ECR club night. Saw handlebear, who was looking really lively, and of course excessor was his usual charming self. We were too tired to dance, alas. So next week we need to get some floor time to prepare for Convention.

For the sound problems, perhaps you could install white noise generators throughout the house. Or maybe put tapestries on the walls. And gorgeous little rugs everywhere. I can't wait to see it!
