Mark Jenkins at Renner Gallery + Lambda Legal event

Our friend John is getting his gallery started with a bang, opening an exhibit of Mark Jenkins photography at 2344 Market Street (between Castro and Noe.) The show actually starts August 8th (Wednesday) with the opening at 5 PM, continuing to August 26th, open Tue-Sun 11 AM to 5:30 PM.

About the show:

Renner Gallery is pleased to present MAGIC REALITY.

Jenkins combines a traditional photographic approach with
digital technique to achieve a masterful image of composition
and montage. While his coloration evokes the warmth of
hand-pulled platinum prints, Jenkins' lighting style and
printing technique produces a distinctive "glow" to his works,
enhancing a wide range of images of figurative, botanical and
floral, architectural, and portrait subjects.

Jenkins graduated from the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia
studying photography, design and painting. He has had works
published in the book "Self-Exposure" (Universe/Rizzoli 2005
NYC), and "Blue Muse" (Studio Magazines 2005 Sydney). He draws
thematic inspiration from a variety of sources, including
extensive travel through Italy.

This is the first solo exhibition of this emerging San Francisco
artist.

Mark Jenkins is represented exclusively by Renner Gallery.

Ummm ... I was simply going for brownie points:) If you stretched just so and had the same lighting, you would look that lean. For me to look that lean, I would have to be put on the rack and stretched for months ... LOL!

I'm confused too - he's throwing a grand opening of his gallery in the Castro, but he doesn't live here, and the gallery that is celebrating it's grand opening is in a temporary space?

Technically, he's opening a *show* in the renner Gallery *temporarily housed at* the Market Street address. It's clearly a good place to be since he's selling lots already.

He will be living here (in Mark's weekday apartment near enhydrasf's salon) for the next month. The lives of these jet-set couples...
