Lambda Legal on Sunday, and "only ever"
Oct. 7th, 2005 01:22 pmWe'll be having Mark and John over tonight for the suburban equivalent of The Edge Friday drinkies. No
squalidbear, alas, but we'll try to carry on as best we can. Saturday it's up to the city for dinner with Mark and Colin at 2223. Then on Sunday, it's off to Mark and John's estancia in Atherton for a Lambda Legal fundraiser. Expect 50-75 people. Should be fun, and Lambda Legal is in the forefront of using the legal system to gain recognition of our equal rights. Along with GLAAD (which works to improve media images of gay people), they have done a great deal to move the debate in our direction and bring around the fair-minded but uncommitted straight people out there. We've roped in as many people who might be able to donate now or in the future as we can.
I've just started noticing the phrase "only ever" in (mostly) British writing. Does anyone have any idea when it came into use? Like "in hospital," it seems to be spreading in the US.
