My DSL needs Viagra.

That is, it won't stay up. The SBC folks were around and about all day working on it, so far not fixed. Since the first trouble three weeks ago, I've seen three other guys trying to poke around in the buried line box in front of my house. Big problem, apparently....

So y'all won't hear from me much [muffle those cheers, please!] until it's fixed.

After a series of men drove up, fiddled, and left yesterday, a butch young lady turned up this morning and fixed the DSL line (it was a hardware problem in the line.) Let's hear it for technically-competent women!

Paul's new media center from Ethan Allen arrived yesterday. I spent four hours last night hooking up his surround sound system with the other components. Cables really suck. But most of it works now, with three optical inputs and terrific sound quality. I await the DSS [Digital Spread Spectrum] autoconfiguring media system, which will eliminate this mess of cables.

Light journaling for a few days while I help Paul move in. If we survive you'll hear from us by the weekend. :-)
