Bamboo garage....
Jun. 3rd, 2004 02:42 pm...not some bit of word salad from a Beyesian-avoidance spam, but the 56 boxes of bamboo flooring now stacked in our garage awaiting installation next week. The fun of moving almost all the furniture and bookshelves in the house awaits us.
We were just visited by Mike's old friend Erik, who moved off to Australia two years ago with Torsten, his partner. Erik told us about how Torsten won't stay happy anywhere and now wants to move to South Africa. Which reminded us of someone... people who can never find the person or place they think they need to be happy and keep searching until (if they're lucky) they realize the search was their life. By which time it's too late to recover the people jettisoned to continue the search.
ECR club night last night was fun. Andy was throwing us some out-of-usual-position stuff, taking the training wheels off for the just-graduated students. Unfortunately some of us long-term dancers were not much better. I was especially confused by a "single-file, first go left, second go right" bit, which by the time I had figured it out had me standing confused in the wrong place. I will miss Andy.
