Partner Mike had a full day's massage class today, so I went up with [livejournal.com profile] excessor via the San Andreas Fault route (aka 280) to attend [livejournal.com profile] rootbeer1 and [livejournal.com profile] qbear's BBQ in honor of [livejournal.com profile] decibal, who I'd never talked to before but who turned out to be a lot of fun. Did my usual one beer thing (enough to make me pleasantly conversational) and hawked my low-carb, healthy-fat, high-protein spice cake, which understandably had trouble competing with the chocolate brownies [livejournal.com profile] baraksf (I think) made. I met the famous [livejournal.com profile] arkanjil, got a nice massage from [livejournal.com profile] excessor, got a great house tour from [livejournal.com profile] rootbeer1 (lots of interesting comparisons between their house and ours, since theirs is a compact, earlier vintage city Eichler, while ours is a very late (1969) expanded version on a larger lot, but still they have many details in common.) We left reluctantly as the sun was going down, stopping in at my house for a quick apricot liqueur.

Tomorrow partner Mike will head off for dinner with his friend Sam. Our friend Frans from Amsterdam will arrive for a week stay.

It was a fun gathering. [livejournal.com profile] qbear and [livejournal.com profile] rootbeer1 have a lovely home.

Those are fun pictures! I don't think I've ever encountered the word dandled before and I had to look it up.

Famous?

Alas, I was aiming for 'notorious'...

I had no idea you were he or are you or whatever would be the right context for just then right now. Not that it would have made a diff as you were excellent company, but still; the wonder of it all, ya know?

"Huh?" he said knowingly.

I suppose I meant "infamous" but was being polite as befits the situation.

After being unjustly accused of being a neocon, I have tended to keep my distance, but I now see there are good reasons not to.
