Our double wall oven is 18" wide, which seems adequate to me. Unfortunately, much equipment is designed for wider ovens. [livejournal.com profile] excessor discovered his roasting pan wouldn't fit, and just now I discovered the rack for my silicon loaf pans (which I bought a few months ago) didn't fit either. The real problem is depth -- in this case the rack almost fits, but the 1/8" steel wire handles add about 2" of depth and stop the door from closing.

Butching it up, I just hacksawed off one of the handles. Fits fine now.

That story wasn't just cute, it was kinda hot.

I dunno why.

I feel all dirty now.

Like Martha Stewart having an affair with Bob Villa.

I remember mangling the tab-shaped handles of some cookie trays for that very reason. :-/

Did he leave or do you now have a one handle roasting pan? On the other handle, it's time to go shopping for new bake ware or a new oven -- flip a coin!

Mmmm. It may be time for you to consider letting Sara Lee bake for you the balance of the holidays.
