Christmas Cards

We're doing the whole Christmas card thing this year, since it's the first year we've been living together at Christmas and there are lots of people on our correspondence list who don't even know we're together. There are 80 people on the list and I'm not looking forward to it. The idea we settled on was a slightly tacky holiday photo card, and the winner borrows the idea I had from 1980 when I was with my first partner, Ron. Here's the 1980 version:

Here's the 2005 version.

I think it would work better if you BOTH were holding up thought balloons, with something slightly caustic/bitchy.

For example, your balloon in the above photo might say something like ...

- I don't want to know where you put the batteries for those lights.
- That's nice, you're still doing the dishes.
- I told you I was feeling a little horny.
- Are you sure you don't need help trimming the tree?

That would be cute. OTOH, we're sarcastic/bitchy enough in person without reminding everyone. :-) The mild camp value in this version is about as far as some of the recipients need to go.... as it is, the relatives won't get it.

Maybe next time several versions!

Ron doesn't look too happy in that picture. Don't tell me you tortured him, too?

That's an essential partof the Christmas angst.

I play to win.

As the Inuit have 14 words for snow and ice the Germsns have 27 words for enjoying the suffering of others.

Which one is the Ho?

Comments work better when I remember to log in to LJ first...

Both.

(But I mean that in the very nicest way. Really.)

I think that is totally cute. (I hope that was the effect for which you were going, in addition to the double entendre.)

Whoa, Santa's looking mighty buff! And you, well, you're such a deer, er, dear.
