Exact recipe for body-conscious cookies
This is not supposed to end up as a baking blog, but since you asked:
Better Hermits
1 1/4 cup flaxseed or canola oil
Splenda / sucralose 30 packets (or 1 1/4 cups granular)
4 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup molasses
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup soy flour
1/2 cup whey protein powder
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
2 tsp ginger
2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup sunflower seeds, roasted and salted
1/2 cup dates, cut in pieces
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup dried cherries
Preheat oven to 350F. Blend first group of ingredients, whip at highest speed. Blend in powder ingredients (2nd group) -- batter will be thick and gooey; warm in microwave if necessary to improve workability, or add small amount of milk if making cookies to thin batter. Fold in fruits and nuts by hand. Drop onto greased cookie sheet and bake for 12 minutes, or make bars by filling loaf or cake pan -- baking time will vary.
Makes about 4 dozen medium cookies. Use floured second spoon to flatten cookies, as they will not flatten as much as normal cookies in baking.
