Dinner party
We have our good friend Frans from Holland visiting this week. Mike (aka
mike_norcal) helped set up Sun's European purchasing operation and hired Frans not realizing he was also "on our team." Frans lives with his partner in a beautiful old house near the beach and the village center of Bloemendaal, a 20-minute train ride from Amsterdam. He likes to stay with us when he's here on business visiting Sun HQ.
We also had over Lou, a frequent dinner guest, who has many similar interests to Frans. Lou and Frans chatted in front of the fire while Mike did his usual fine cooking job. Lou brought some chocolate chip/banana bread, and to make up for that I whipped up my special low-carb dessert: a cup of no-fat plain yogurt mixed with 4 packets of Sucralose and a half cup of barely thawed frozen wild blueberries from Trader Joe's.
Then it was out to the hottub for a long soak and some Jacuzzi therapy. Clouds obscured parts of the sky and we tried to identify constellations from the fragmentary views -- Orion eventually was found.
